In 1982 the series “Knight Rider” first graced the television screens of many homes across the globe. The premise of the show? A badly hurt cop is asked by a nerdy millionaire to take part in his project. Michael Knight, the cop, is now one half of Knight Rider – a team that defends justice and solves crime. The other half is K.I.T.T. the car, equipped with artificial intelligence that can talk and actively helps its partner to solve crime.
Now, this is a fictional story that has little to do with what we aim to teach you in this module. But a few themes from this show align with SmartyourHome.
  • Automation can help you in your day-to-day life. Not to solve crime, but to make your life more comfortable – especially when you need it.
  • Voice assistants are common with smart home devices. Even when you can’t use your arms – maybe because you are currently driving your highly technologized cop car - or because you currently occupied with something else.
In this learning module you are going to learn about voice assistants and how they can help you.
